Okay so this week was a great week! On Friday I hit my 6 month mark in the mission, and that is already 1/4th of my mission! It is crazy honestly. Time in the mission is so different, you never know if it is going by fast or slow, but honestly it is just crazy to think about how far I have come in these 6 months, and this week I was really humbled to think that without the Lord i would be no where right now. But this week was great! We had Maria in the church, we went super early in a mototaxi to get her, and there is a picture down there of us on the taxi! She is seriously so crazy.... she has no reason to be happy whatsoever, but yet she is SO HAPPY! I love her so much. She has the true meaning of happiness in her life. I ask her if she is happy, and she just puts the biggest smile on her face with no teeth or anything and says yes. AH, i love it.

On Wednesday we had multi zone conference in Campeche, so i got to see the ocean for the first time in my mission! So that was absolutely awesome. It was a great conference. My mission president called me up in front of everyone to tell the story of how i wrote a small note to my bishop in area Kukulcan and how he cried and completely changed the way he worked with us. He then told me to write up a story about it to send to SLC for the history of the mission!
So this week i had a crazy experience with the holy ghost. I was in a lesson and we invited someone to get baptized, and she said she has doubts cause she only wants to do it if her whole family does it, to not leave them behind, as she put it. And i was thinking i should tell her and promise her that if the does it, her whole family will accept it one day, but i didn't want to lie and make a broken promise, but the spirit kept telling me to say it, so when i said it... my testimony grew about how much power i truly have as a missionary. I told her: As a representative of Jesus Christ, I promise you that if you get baptized, your whole family will one day accept the gospel. Okay and wow when i said that, i cried and my whole body was filled with chills and peace and warmth. I realized this week I am truly a representative of Jesus Christ and have the power to invite others to come unto Him.

This week my comp and I have started getting up earlier in the morning to go running to members houses and giving them notes on their doors to wake up to! I have truly learned this week to do more acts of service in all ways!
This Sunday was awesome. Yesterday we had a meeting with our mission president and all of the leaders from every branch in Calkini District. My comp and I prepared a work plan for our area this week, and in this meeting the District President asked us to present it in front of everyone. So we did. And afterwards, our mission president came up to us and told us that we are working so hard and our plan is marvelous, and that he is really proud of us. To hear those words was amazing, and i don't say it to boast, just to say that wow hearing those words from my leader was amazing. My comp and I are seriously so happy.
On Friday we had to go to Merida super fast for my comp to sign a paper, and my mom sent me some packages. SHE SENT ME HER HOMEMADE COOKIES! Lets just say wow i was so happy. My mom is the best. I love her so much!!

So some funny things. There is a word here in the state of Campeche that is called Campechano. Literally everything here is the opposite. To open the water from the sink, if you normally turn to the left, here you turn to the right. When you take money out of the ATM, even though the button says cancel, you have to click it to continue.... funny things like that. Everything here is the opposite lol.
Okay so this story is a little less spiritual.... to show we are still boys. In the middle of contacting a person last week, my companion farted SO LOUD and i could not control myself, i tried so hard but literally laughed so hard and then my companion started laughing and the person just looked at us, who was previously yelling and rejecting us, and just walked away lol. And afterwards we couldn't stop laughing for like 10 minutes.
So my mission president described something this week that i loved so much. He said the 2 years in the mission is like the fall of Adam and Eve. It was necessary to have happiness afterwards, and they did it to be obedient. My mission president said here we walk all day, it is burning hot, we sleep in hammocks, we cant talk to our family, we are away from home, etc etc etc.... it isn't the most amazing lifestyle, it is like the fall of Adam and Eve. But after this.... everything is so worth it. Everything we do and learn is so that people here can have happiness now and we can have happiness after. He said, sure, you feel the spirit the most in these 2 years in your life, but it is still the hardest 2 years ever. It was good insight, like wow,i am so happy here yes, but it is also so hard sometimes, but so worth it.
D&C 78 18 And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.
This scripture helped me so much this week.... HE WILL LEAD US ALONG. BE OF GOOD CHEER.
3 Nephi 78 13 Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life.
